CHARACTER: CANON SECTION
NAME: Sucy Manbavaran
AGE: 16
CANON: Little Witch Academia

CANON HISTORY: Wiki link; though Sucy has been shafted badly by the second half of the anime. These are the list of all episodes that explain the plot, though.
CANON PERSONALITY:

Sucy is the true definition of trouble. Not to the extent of the protagonist Akko's hotheadedness, but she can still be quite troublesome. For one thing, she gives off this creepy, unsettling vibe for a witch, and a lot of people are put off with her indifference with pretty much everything that's happening in this magical world they live in. We can pretty much gauge what kind of person she is from her very first appearance from the anime alone - already using her potions on Akko like bringing a bird plush into life to peck her eye out and turning ropes into snakes just to get Akko away from her. From this we can already see that Sucy is a very unemotional witch, but a mischievous trickster by heart.

Sucy can be rather sadistic at times; she loves pulling all sorts of pranks that involve her constant experimentation with potions and she seems pretty amused at putting Akko and Lotte's life on the line with the cockatrice in Arcturus Forest. She's the type to cause chaos if it means she can get something out of it OR if she's bored as all get out, as shown in one episode where she releases a Cupid Bee at a party and making all sorts of people fall in love with the wrong person - she only did it for the shits and giggles, leaving Akko to capture it and restore peace to that party. This is usually how an episode goes - Sucy pranks Akko, Akko gets mad, Sucy brushes her off, leaving Lotte to be the middle man for the two of them.

As mentioned, Sucy can be rather aloof and indifferent to things around her, and it's usually the first impression people have of her. With her pale skin, perpetually sullen expression and voice, and outlandish interests that most people would find disturbing like wanting to be devoured and excreted by a ghost during the Samhain Festival, she certainly gives off that creepy vibe. What's interesting to note is that while the majority of the cast of LWA is a witch, she's the only witch that actually looks wicked, but please note that she's anything but evil.

But despite her eccentricities, Sucy is not a completely heartless and antisocial girl. The episode "Sleeping Sucy" elaborates more on her weird mindset wherein Akko takes a trip into Sucy's subconscious and sees all these other Sucys that represent various aspects of her personality. The scene where she sends her own versions of herself to the guillotine and decides whoever shall live or die indicates the workings of the freudian Super Ego; so in other words, for someone who's generally seen as weird and revels in that fact, Sucy has a fairly mundane set of values. Like most teenagers her age, she too would want to be a supermodel, or want to indulge in something small and harmless like petting cute animals. Those only represent her stray thoughts and inner desires - things that should not always be acted upon.

And while she and Akko often butt heads with one another, she still considers their first meeting - with the eye-pecking and snakes and all - her most cherished memory. It's a lot more emphasized when it was shown in a movie reel in Sucy's mind: while said movie showed Akko's misadventures in a cartoony 1920's style, the part where they first met is suddenly rendered in a more traditional anime style that signifies how important Akko truly is to Sucy despite being snark, cold, and even antagonistic towards her. And when Hannah and Barbara, the two cliquey witches of their school, started mocking her and her teammates (and even calling her Creepy Sucy), Sucy starts cracking her neck several times. This shows that for all her indifference towards her peers, she won't tolerate others mocking them. This could also hint that Sucy may care how people think of her - but only for a tiniest bit because generally Sucy doesn't give a shit.

All in all, Sucy can be rather troublesome in her own right. But her traits are still lovable nonetheless, vore fetish or no, and all of these is what makes Sucy Sucy.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

As a young witch, Sucy has average skills in casting basic magic, and is shown to be proficient in metamorphosis, object control, and fusion magic, and her broom-flying skills are not half-bad at all.

Where Sucy truly shines, though, is the making and brewing all sorts of potions. Sucy has an uncanny interest in mushrooms, and usually uses them in her potions that are usually deadly or poisonous. Yes, she can create potions that can not only kill its victims, but can also liquefy them and can melt through floors and walls. Though she can also make nonlethal potions, such as ones that can accelerate plant growth and ones that can give life to objects temporarily.

Lastly, like everyone in the Manbavaran family, Sucy has developed an immunity to all poisons and toxins.

Oh, and Sucy dabbles in yoga and meditation, as seen in episode 11. It's the first time anyone has seen her with a hobby that doesn't have anything to do with potions or fungi.

CHARACTER: AU SECTION
AU NAME: Sucette Dimaano
AU AGE: 17
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: Stringy dark hair and eyes that makes her look creepier enough as it is. She'd only have tiny fangs instead of a row of sharp, sharklike teeth as well.

AU HISTORY:

- born in the Philippines like in canon! Her mother died during childbirth though, so she's raised in a very academically-oriented family with a dad and an older brother and sister
- her father remarried to former delinquent Ranmaru Rindou ([personal profile] onepunchran), and since her older siblings already have a family and a stable job she's whisked away to live in Recolle, United States when she was 8 years old
- initially culture-shocked, but she's always been a quick learner. Has a rocky relationship with his father, but accepts her stepmother into her heart later on and is actually a lot closer to her than her own biological parent
- she's rather tall and intimidating-looking for her age, but she's actually very intelligent; you just wouldn't know it at first glance
- very laidback and slacks off from schoolwork too often so a lot of people just see her as too simpleminded, really
- but!! she does reveal her true intelligence once she's around something that catches her interest
- it's just that she's watched her father put so much pressure on her older siblings so she just hides her smarts so that nobody would ever expect shit from her
- but that's the thing, her interests are kind of all over the place - she's leaning towards science but at the same time she doesn't want to pursue that shit bc her family already expects her to become a doctor but she... doesn't want to... not yet, at least
- and yes she still does experiments but with sweets - horrible-looking sweets that actually taste good! she's still working on the presentation, ok
- right now she's a senior at recolle high, enjoying her final year of high school while loudly ignoring everyone who's pressuring her about the future!!!! leave her olone

AU PERSONALITY:

AU Sucy would still be mostly similar with her canon self - because Sucy can't truly be Sucy without her snark and apathy with a dash of pranks. The biggest difference here though is the presence of a family. While canon Sucy doesn't seem to have a family in the TV anime, AU Sucy has to comply in a strict Filipino household that needs her to decide on what she should do in her future or else. With her older siblings being bogged down with work and their own families, Sucy feels pressured on what to do from here but at the same time doesn't know how to act on it. She's generally apathetic about her future as a bit of a coping mechanism - if she doesn't think about it too hard, it'll just come to her soon enough. Furthermore, while she has above-average marks when she was a witch in Luna Nova, in Recolle she'd be barely scraping to pass her class as a result of her apathy. Though make no mistake - she's only hiding her own intellect to avoid even more pressure from her peers and family.

And obviously, she won't be a fully-fledged witch here, but she won't be too dismissive of magic in general. She'd find it unbelievable at first, but she'll accept her magical past once it finally comes to hit her.
